Your 4-day Moroccan adventure begins after breakfast, departing from Marrakech. First, we’ll journey over the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m) in the High Atlas Mountains, unveiling breathtaking panoramic views. Our primary stop today is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. This is a stunning example of traditional Moroccan earthen architecture and a famed backdrop for many international films. Afterwards, we continue towards Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” perhaps with a brief look at its film studios. Finally, our route takes us into the Dades Valley, renowned for its dramatic rock formations and verdant oases. You’ll spend the night here, surrounded by its unique natural beauty.
After breakfast, we’ll journey from the Dades Valley towards the mighty Sahara. Our first key stop will be the impressive Todra Gorges, where towering canyon walls create a magnificent natural spectacle. You’ll have time for a short walk to fully appreciate their scale. Next, we continue via Erfoud, a town known for its fossils, as we make our way to Merzouga. Upon arrival at the edge of the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes, your camels await. Embark on an unforgettable trek across the golden sands to witness a spectacular Saharan sunset. Later, you’ll settle into your luxurious desert camp for a magical night under a canopy of stars, complete with a traditional Moroccan dinner.
Wake early to experience the serene beauty of a desert sunrise over the dunes (optional, but highly recommended). After breakfast at the camp, we bid farewell to the Sahara. Our journey today leads us towards Ouarzazate via a different, fascinating route. We may pass through Rissani, the ancient capital of the Tafilalet region, before continuing through Alnif and Nkob, areas known for their traditional Berber villages and striking pre-Saharan landscapes. Along the way, we will also glimpse parts of the lush Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley, with its extensive palm groves offering a beautiful contrast. Eventually, we arrive in Ouarzazate for your overnight stay.
Following breakfast, our final day sees us journeying back to vibrant Marrakech. We will once again traverse the majestic High Atlas Mountains, this time offering different perspectives and further opportunities to admire the stunning scenery. During the drive, you can reflect on the incredible landscapes, rich cultural encounters, and cherished memories forged during your 4-day adventure through southern Morocco. Your tour concludes upon arrival in Marrakech, where we will transfer you to your designated hotel or the airport for your onward journey.
