Top 6 Days Tours from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech → High Atlas → Telouet → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Todra Gorges

Your Moroccan adventure begins after breakfast as we depart from Marrakech. First, we’ll journey over the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m) in the High Atlas Mountains. This route offers breathtaking panoramic views. Along the way, our itinerary includes a stop at the historic Kasbah of Telouet. Following this, we continue to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site famed for its film appearances.

After lunch nearby, we proceed to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Here, you’ll have an option to visit the renowned Atlas Film Studios. Ultimately, the day culminates with our arrival at the impressive Todra Gorges. Towering 300-meter cliffs create a dramatic landscape for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Todra Gorges → Dades Valley Views → Rissani → Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

After breakfast, we’ll have ample time to appreciate the grandeur of the Todra Gorges. Next, our journey takes us towards the Sahara. This leg offers views of the Dades Valley’s unique landscapes, including the winding rock formations sometimes called the “monkey fingers.” Subsequently, we will stop in Rissani. This town is the historic cradle of Morocco’s ruling Alaouite dynasty, where you can experience its traditional souk.

Continuing our drive, we arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. Once there, your camels await for an unforgettable trek across the golden sands. This trek leads you to a luxurious Sahara desert camp. You’ll enjoy a magical overnight stay under a canopy of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert Exploration (Erg Chebbi)

Wake early to witness a breathtaking Sahara sunrise painting the dunes with color. Afterwards, enjoy breakfast at the camp. Today is dedicated to immersing yourself in the magic of the Merzouga region. For instance, options include further camel riding or visiting local nomadic families to learn about their way of life. Additionally, you can explore the village of Khamlia, famous for its spiritual Gnawa music, or discover nearby fossil mines.

Alternatively, you might opt for an exhilarating 4×4 excursion deeper into the desert landscape. Or, simply choose to relax and soak in the tranquility of the dunes. You’ll enjoy another unforgettable night in the Sahara, either at the camp or a hotel at the dune line.

Day 4: Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Cedar Forests → Ifrane → Fes

After breakfast, we bid farewell to the Sahara. Our journey north initially takes us past the vast palm groves of the Ziz Valley oasis. This stunning ribbon of green amidst the arid landscape offers a perfect spot where we’ll pause for panoramic photos. Then, we continue towards Midelt, known for its apple orchards (a good place for lunch, not included). Later, we drive through the scenic cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains near Azrou. These forests are often home to Barbary macaques. Furthermore, we’ll pass through Ifrane, dubbed “Morocco’s Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture. Finally, we arrive in the ancient imperial city of Fes for your overnight stay in a traditional riad.

Day 5: Fes (Guided City Tour) → Casablanca

Following breakfast in your Fes riad, you’ll immerse yourself in the medieval heart of this captivating city with an expert local guide. Explore the labyrinthine streets of Fes el-Bali (Old Fes), visit the Al Quaraouiyine University (one of the world’s oldest), witness the ancient craft at the famous tanneries, and navigate the bustling souks filled with vibrant sights, sounds, and smells. In the afternoon, we depart for Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and economic hub. Upon arrival, we’ll check into your hotel for the night.

Day 6: Casablanca (Hassan II Mosque) → Marrakech → Departure

After breakfast in Casablanca, the morning highlight is a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque. This is one of the largest mosques in the world, dramatically situated overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. An exterior visit is included; however, interior access is subject to opening times and visitor fees. Here, you can admire its intricate architecture and grand scale.

Following this experience, we begin our journey back to Marrakech. Upon arrival, and depending on your flight schedule, we will transfer you directly to Marrakech Menara Airport. This concludes your memorable 6-day Moroccan tour. If time allows and your flight is late, however, you might have a brief opportunity for last-minute exploration in Marrakech before heading to the airport.
